Chondromatrix
Implant of autologous chondrocytes in a collagen matrix for advanced regeneration of knee articular cartilage.
Chondromatrix is an advanced tissue engineering solution based on the implantation of autologous chondrocytes cultured in vitro and seeded onto a collagen matrix, allowing regeneration of articular cartilage with structural properties similar to hyaline cartilage.
Composition
5 million autologous chondrocytes per cm2 in a collagen matrix.
Pharmaceutical form
Collagen membrane with autologous chondrocytes for surgical implantation.
Presentation
Membranes of different sizes, adjustable to the defect, ready for arthroscopic or open implantation.
Mechanism of action & Clinical data
Chondrocytes adhere to the cartilage lesion promoting tissue regeneration, improving mechanical strength, elasticity, and shock absorption of the treated joint.
Indications
Focal full-thickness cartilage defects in the knee of traumatic or degenerative origin.
Administration
Surgical implantation via arthroscopic or open surgery, followed by controlled rehabilitation.
Contraindications
Allergy to antibiotics, joint infections, pregnancy, breastfeeding, or advanced osteoarthritis.
Storage
Refrigerate between 2 and 8 C. Immediate use upon receipt. Do not freeze.
